I just posted a transcript of a meeting in 1980 involving attorneys for
Hubbard and Scientology concerning the restructuring of the organization to
shield Hubbard from legal liability.
Hubbard's attorney at the time Alan S. Wertheimer, talking about Hubbard
and SO#1 states :

He gets - people work for him. People who are paid by the Church render
their exclusive services to him directly. That's something that's always
bothered me. Standing Order #1 is an area I've had dealings in which hasn't
been followed for ten years; yet there is advertisement... There's a lot of
things going on that really tie him into the Church.

The SO#1 line was a fraud. Hubbard never saw the letters addressed to
him, but had other people, paid by Scientology, write letters in
response and sign his name as if the answers were coming from him.
I am not a lawyer, but you can bet your Bridge to Total Freedom you were
defrauded, and thousands of Scientologists like you were defrauded with the
same Hubbard SO#1 scam.

You are right. I've got a bunch of phony LRH letters, too. The SO #1 line
was such a scam run on the public after Hubbard went into hiding.
The LRH letter telling Jean-Luc (a public person) that the best way to OT
is by training is just an outright lie. No public ever went OT via training.
Actually no public ever went OT, but that is another story.

With the help of the internet, I found that those letters I received were
NOT from LRH and why. It was that was the single most disturbing piece of
fact that made it possible for me to then be willing to take all the facts
about Scientology I'd found on the internet, along with future discoveries
and be willing to discern truth rather than blindly accept the cult's data
as fact as I'd been programmed to do.
I wish we could sue or get the COS for fraud on this point alone. The
evidence is in the letters, which I am sure many people kept. Swizerland
has a different legal systems so I hope someone can do something there, too

For fraud, the cause of action accrues when the fraud was discovered or
should have been discovered. The people running Scientology and operating
the SO#1 scam have never publicly admitted that it was a scam and have acted
to prevent people who were defrauded from discovering the fraud, including
by squirreling away the MCCS tapes. With the posting of the MCCS transcript
in which Hubbard's own lawyer Alan S. Wertheimer acknowledges the fraud,
people can now discover that they have been defrauded.

- The results of HARD SELL in scientology are easily
twisted into fraudulent money making scams from all levels of the
organization. I've seen it too many times.
I hope Jean-Luc takes this to his government authorities to show them yet
another example of the fraud this group commit.
He'll need the SO#1 references, the Mission Corp Sort out transcripts
Gerry mentioned and have them transcribed oif necessary, and possibly
the US v Zolin case information. I wish him well.
