Scientology: Masked Protesters at Portland Church of Scientology

Testimony: «I finally escaped»

I was involved in this church, at first I thought it was helping me, with the auditing and having a group to belong to. Until the main focus turned to money, and recruiting new church membrs, the upper staff had stats and quotas to meet and we would have to stay up ALL night (I was 12) to call people in Hawaii.

When my mother got nervous of all the time and money I was"devoting to the greater good" The "Church" told me to disconnect from her and never to have contact with her, they stole my mail, read it--when I wanted to leave, I was physically prevented to. The church had someone sleeping outside mydoor and following me to the bathroom! I finally escaped 7 weeks later.

I bolted, they never let us hear or read about critical questions people had ... they don't want you to think for yourself-they forbid it.

I am so glad I got out, but so many people are still there that cant get out. In the prison camp called the RPF---PRISON CAMPS!!! You work all day doing grotesque work, like cleaning sewage and I havebeen hit, spit on and at times not allowed to eat, not allowed to getmedical treatment. This should be illegal !

Girls I knew were sexuallyassaulted, raped and mentally tortured ....

How can this happen inAMERICA ?

    New-York / Testimony

«If my two kids were suppressive, I would absolutely disconnect from them»

A New York les Anonymous ont discuté avec une scientologue initiée aux secrets de la secte (OT8)
Elle leur a avoué qu'elle se déconnecterait de ses deux filles si elles critiquaient la scientologie !

Just here to share the awesomeness that was May 10th, Operation: Fair Game-STOP ! here in New York City.

We swarmed Times Square, we handed out close to 3000 fliers, and even threw some love towards the Celebrity Center, even though it's empty (gee, I wonder why).

Scilons apparently have a NEW DVD on 'Anonymous' hate crimes' and whatnot, runs about 20 min in length, and they ATTEMPTED to go around to any business in the area and have them watch this, with the hopes of basically getting stores/delis/restaurants to say "No Anonymous Allowed". Yeah. Good one, Co$. NYPD captain says if someone wants to step forwards, they can press charges. It's being debated whether we want to get our ties to the NYCLU involved.

They also tried to hand out their blue-packaged DVD to passers-by. Uh huh. Hand out a DVD, in Times Square?  That'll work. </sarcasm> I think we traded about 90% of them for free hugs/flyers/pictures with Anon.

Oh, and we have a BEAUTY of a recording of one woman who claimed to be OT 7. I'll post it if anyone wants to verify it's not fake. =P Woman was trying to have an intelligent debate with Anon/Freezoners who showed up.

Anon: "Yeah this is great, I mean we really appreciate it [that you are talking to us]."

OT7: "Well, you know what - I have two kids, my son is 31, and my daughter is 30 and they're both Scientologists. They would have been here today, if they..."

Anon: "Now the question is, if any of your kids tried to leave the Church, would you disconnect from them? 'Cause-"

    OT7: "mmm-mmm [meaning no]"

Anon: "- you wouldn't ever disconnect from them? Okay - 'cause we talked-"

OT7: "The only reason- No. The only reason I would disconnect from my kids [is] if they were suppressive. If they were, I would absolutely disconnect from them."

    Anon: [stunned silence]

    Anonymous - Toronto

Oh man, just got back. I'm tired as hell, but I have no regrets. I was the guy in the "I see dumb people" shirt, holding the sign that said "Do you like free speech? Scientology doesn't!" I was with Warberg and two other friends.

We got to Union Station around 10 after taking the bus in from Hamilton. One subway ride later, and we found ourselves almost fifty minutes early. This time was mostly occupied by wandering around the streets surrounding the Org. Funny story: we ended up in a little park type area just north of Church and Bloor. Around 10:40, Warberg asked "So when should we start walking?" The second he said that, a van came around the corner with one word printed in huge letters on the side: NOW. It was truly a message from the Marcabians, as we got there just in time to hear the great news: we were allowed on the west side of Yonge.

Thus began my favourite raid so far. Highlights of the day, in no particular order:

Having a great conversation with a bike cop. He didn't know what was going on, so we and some guys who were next to us informed him about fair game and all that type stuff.

Being called awesome by some grandmother aged pedestrian.

Motorcycle Anon !

The impenetrable mass of sidewalk chalk.

Being accosted by two hobos in five minutes while eating at KFC (protip: "Buy me a piece of chicken" is not the correct way to ask for money).

Spotting a camera on the fifth floor of the Org.

Watching some random fish truck unloading into the back of the Org. Why can't the Sysco trucks unload there? It is a mystery.

Getting scared to death by some Scilon beating on the window. I leaned against the Org because my back was in extreme pain, and apparently they don't like that.

Anyway, epic win, would protest again. +9000 internets to Warberg and friend for their epic space invaders sign.

James Packer quits Scientology: reports

La propagande irrationnelle de la scientologie contre la psychiatrie et son image de plus en plus négative dans le monde entier a fait fuir son milliardaire australien James Parker

http://www.scopical.com.au/articles/News/5470/James-Packer-quits-Scientology:-reports - 10 May 2008
[Texte intégral]

Billionaire media and gambling mogul James Packer has quit the Church of Scientology, according to reports.

Mr Packer, who had been a member of the Church since being introduced by friend Tom Cruise in 2002, is now said to be quietly slipping out of the organisation, Fairfax Media reports.

It is believed years of negative publicity over allegations the Church is a cult and it's radical stance against psychiatry have driven Mr Packer out.

It is also understood Mr Packer's pursuit of gambling assets has run against the grain of the Church's stance on gaming. "An obsessive gambler is a psychotic just like a drug addict or an alcoholic," Scientology's founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote.

Scientology, which pitches itself at "able" individuals, has faced months of mounting criticism from pressure groups, including online group Anonymous. Thousands of activists are today also expected to gather around Australia to protest Scientology.Anonymous says the Australian protest will coincide with other worldwide protests.

"The worldwide protest on May 10th will focus specifically on Scientology's 'Fair Game Policy', which states that persons or agencies that Scientology considers to be enemies may be: '… deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.'," the group said in a statement yesterday.

Although the group has no real leader, it's organisation has seen several high profile campaigns mounted in the United States, Europe and Australia.

Billionaire James Packer has apparently turned his back on the Church of Scientology. Some of Packer's closest mates have reportedly revealed he's quietly removed himself from the controversial religion, labelled as a cult by critics.

His close buddy and Scientology nut Tom Cruise introduced Packer to the church in 2002. Packer is yet to comment, but friends reportedly say he's still close with Tom.

Packer's pregnant wife, failed songstress Erica Baxter,  has also distanced herself from the church. Apparently mounting negative publicity and the church's radical psychiatry stance have presented issues for Packer of late.

Not to mention Packer's growing casino empire. The church's founder, science fiction author L Ron Hubbard, denounced gambling.

EXCLUSIVE - See ya, Tom: Packer quits Cruise's church

Source: http://www.smh.com.au/ May 10, 2008
[Texte intégral]

The billionaire's closest friends have revealed that he has quietly distanced himself from Scientology, labelled a cult by some former members, as it faces international controversy about its anti-psychiatry stance.

Members of Mr Packer's inner circle have confirmed that the billionaire, who had ranked as Scientology's wealthiest member in the world, was no longer undertaking Scientology courses and had slowly moved away from the religion, telling his closest friends he no longer "needs it".

His office did not respond to the Herald's calls yesterday.

Mr Packer was introduced to Scientology by his friend Tom Cruise in 2002. Friends say they remain close. They were most recently photographed dining together with their wives in Germany.

The religion entered Mr Packer's realm at one of the lowest points in his personal and business life. He was overweight and depressed, his marriage to his first wife, Jodhi Meares, had ended and he was reeling from the humiliating and very public collapse of One.Tel, losing $350 million from the family business on the way.

He has spoken publicly of his involvement in the religion only once, telling The Australian Financial Review Magazine in 2006 that he spent an hour or so "every couple of days" practising Scientology. "I think it has been very good for me," he said. "It has been helpful. I have some friends in Scientology that have been very supportive. But I think it's just helped me have a better outlook on life."

Thanks to his Hollywood confidant Cruise, Mr Packer and his fortune were embraced at Scientology's highest levels.

A video from 2004 shows Mr Packer in the front row with the world's most senior Scientologist at a convention in Los Angeles at which Tom Cruise was awarded a large medal before a roaring crowd.

However, Scientology caused discomfort within Mr Packer's old circle of Sydney friends. When his lifelong friend David Gyngell quit Channel Nine in May 2005, it was Mr Packer who called in Scientologists to counsel the TV executive.

Out of respect for his friend, Mr Gyngell listened to them but politely said he did not need their help. In a blaze of negative publicity, he left the network his father, Bruce, had launched. Mr Gyngell has since returned to Nine and resumed his friendship with Mr Packer.

However, observers suggest Mr Packer's expanding casino empire has presented issues difficult to reconcile with Scientologist beliefs.

Scientology's founder, the science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard, denounced gambling. "An obsessive gambler is a psychotic just like a drug addict or an alcoholic," Hubbard wrote in 1977.

based on the absurdity and abuses of the Sea Org.

The Sea Org vs. Sea Arrrgh !

Source: http://www.pranonymous.org/2008/05/one-day-for-operation-fair-game-stop.html

June 6: Maiden Voyage Anniversary. The church describes this holiday thus: "On this date in 1988, the Sea Org Motor Vessel Freewinds began her maiden voyage, during which New OT VIII was released publicly. In memory of that day, OT VIII completions convene aboard the Freewinds for a week of special briefings and acknowledg- ments to new OT VIII completions for their work in disseminating and expanding Scientology."

We bring full-bore mockery against Hubbard and Miscavage's private "navy". Everyone could wear pirate hats and eye patches and bandanas over their regular costumes and laugh like pirates at that Sea Org. As all good pirates, we lay seige to their Orgs, and demand their booty.

Plus I think the public would love it, allowing us to explain what the Sea Org is to joe public and really open some eyes.

There seems to be a push for more "fun" protest themes, and I believe this is the ticket. Plus there is plenty of fodder here for serious

discussion:

  • The billion year contract
  • Poor wages
  • Coerced abortions
  • A religion with a NAVY ?
  • The Freewinds and it's documented pollution (nice way to CLEAR the planet)
